Hi! I'm Guppy. I'm 21, I'm from Brisbane, and make art about my weird brain.

A certain group of people in our world feel everything too much. Joy, grief, anxiety, all of it. Their deep, harrowed connection to the world around them renders them wiser, kinder and stronger than most. But the noise? The noise is constant.

I am one of those people.

Through my eyes, the world is an intense place. The lows are brutal, and the highs are euphoric. I see connections, feelings, and patterns that nobody else seems to. My inner world is one of vibrant colour, exquisite views and intense emotion. That line that traditionally separates the internal from the external is blurred.

In my paintings, my fantasy collides with my reality in a messy explosion of the beautiful and unbearable.

If there is a better way to share this all-consuming way of existing, I am yet to find it.

And so, I paint.
